Conclusion

General   + -
This Twin Frozr OC Edition from MSI has been able to convince us. Thanks to the factory overclocking the card is 5 % faster than the reference clocked ones.
The cooling system proved to be good too, it was noiseless in idle, silent under load and managed to keep our card cool under heavy load. And we kinda like the design as well.
We could blame MSI for using a reference design PCB for such a graphics card but we won't because if they did use their own PCB design the Twin Frozr OC would have been more expensive.

Performance   + -
Thanks to the factory overclocking the Twin Frozr OC is 5 % faster than the reference clocked GTX 680. It's by far not the fastest card we've tested since MSI was very shy overclocking the GPU and didn't overclock the memory at all.
The cooler is not the best one around but it's still very good. After one hour of FurMark, the highest temperature hit by the core was 82°C with the fans locked at 30 % (noiseless). At 50 % it's alot better with 63°C max but the noise level isn't good anymore. Indeed from 30 % (1'260 RPM) to 50 % (2'430) that's quite a jump, almost twice the speed. In this case the cooler was as loud as the reference one. But with the fan in auto mode under heavy load we consider it as silent as you hear the airflow with an open case but it's not disturbing at all. I think it will be almost noiseless in a closed case.
The power consumption was on a good level too. In idle it was drawing 7 Watts less than the DCU II Top. Under load it was consuming 3 Watts less.

Recommendation   + -
We recommend this graphics card to people who are looking for a factory overclocked GTX 680 which features a good dual slot cooler at an attractive price point. This card is about 25 € more expensive than the cheapest reference GTX 680.   - Gaming

We give the MSI GeForce GTX 680 Twin Frozr III OC very good 4 out of 5 stars.
