With the Platinum Series Fanless 520 W, Seasonic presents a very good and solid power supply. 92.88 Percent efficiency at 50 Percent load is an excellent value and as a result thermal dissipation power is low. Since this is an entirely passive cooled power supply unit, noise level is zero and therefore inexistent, which makes the unit perfect for no-noise builds. Always practical is a cable management and furthermore we like the number of integrated cables. They offer a sufficient amount of connectors for a system of this watt class.
A cable management is always a
good thing because of the simple reason that it allows users to only connect
cables they really need. Therefore a system can be wired as neatly as possible.
We also liked the fact, that this PSU features, flat-ribbon cables.
With up to six molex connectors and six SATA connectors it
shouldn't be a problem to wire a system of the 520 watt class. Never the less
you shouldn't expect to use this PSU to power an SLI or CrossFire setup. There
are not only the cables missing, there is also not enough power.
If we look at the performance values, the Seasonic Platinum Series Fanless 520 W shows very good stability under load conditions. If we look at average deviations, we see that the results at 3.3 Volt and 5 Volt with 20 and 50 percent load are also very good. Since this PSU has been 80Plus Platinum certified, efficiency wise this unit plays in the top league.
For the Seasonic Platinum Series Fanless 520 W receives excellent five out of five stars.Navigate through the articles | |
