The memory market is not entirely about the big brands. There are also interesting small manufacturers trying to make a name for themselves and today we’re going to check out one of them. Hopefully there will be positively surprised.





Not many people have ever heard of a memory brand called Kingmax. This comes at no surprise as most of Kingmax’s lineup are very obscure entry-level products that barely attract anyone’s attention. However, there is also some unorthodox stuff going through their pipeline like, for example, the Nano Gaming memory, 8GB DDR3-2200 version of which we managed to get our hands on.

While timings of 10-11-10 are nothing extraordinary by modern standards, stretching the rated voltage up to 1.8V while maintaining the lifetime warranty is a rather brave solution.
Things got even more interesting when we had visited the Kingmax website and found out that our memory, together with its DDR3-2400 sister model are promised to work on P55 and P67 chipsets. We don’t doubt they can, but it would be slightly less confusing had Kingmax added CPU requirements to the support list.
