Conclusion

General   + -
With the HD 7950 DirectCU II Top ASUS has a very powerful version of AMDs Radeon HD 7950 in its portfolio. The factory overclocking, which is no less than 100 MHz, is very well measurable and increases the performance noticeably. Furthermore there is ASUS' DirectCU II cooler which once more did an awesome job. When running Furmark Burn-In the GPU did get hotter than 62 °C. Furthermore the noise leve, even under load, we describe as audible.   - 2D silent - Noise Level in 3D mode

Performance   + -
Regarding performance the ASUS Radeon HD 7950 Direct CU II Top can be compared with a GeForce GTX 580 from NVIDIA. On average both cards are equally powerful. The 7950 has its advantages when it comes to Futuremark benchmarks and the GTX 580 is quicker in games. Keeping the thermal design power in mind one can see the big difference the new manufacturing process makes.   - Performance in general - On the same level as GTX 580

Overclocking   + -
Included in the bundle you get the software ASUS GPU Tweak, which allows to adjust the GPU voltage as well as memory frequencies. It has been possible to run 3DMark 11 with 1'080 MHz on the GPU and 6'300 MHz on the memory. Therefore overclockig this card really was fun. Especially the core is remarcable.   - Overclocking GPU 1'080 MHz / Mem 6'300 MHz

- Max 1.17 V

Recommendation   + -
If you should be looking for a very powerful graphics card which comes with a factor overclocking then the ASUS HD 7950 DirectCU II Top definitely can be recommended.   - High-End Gaming - Desktop PC
