Mounting

To mount the Accelero Xtreme Plus II properly you'll find only one mounting kit that fits both nVidia and AMD/ATI cards. Installing the cooler will actually need a lot of force but we will discuss that point later and you'll need the mounting plate, four screws, four spacers and your whasers. However you will need to buy additional parts to make it compatible with nVidia's GT200 series as well as GTX 470/465 series, here are the different parts: VR002 and VR003. The cooler can be mounted easily but you will need to tighten the four screws very hard to fit it perfectly and reach plenty of pressure on the GPU otherwise you will have what we can call a bad mounting and temperature will be very bad, we measured 38°C in idle while it should be more like 25°C. We did not see this problem with the other coolers we tested.

As you can see, we managed to mount the Accelero Xtreme Plus II on a card that is not on the compatibility list, the MSI Twin Frozr II using MSI's own PCB aka a non reference card. And it fits well, nothing to say, just that it the cooler is 5 cm bigger than the card itself.
