3D Model and CAD programming

With all the detials sorted, Marc "Besi" Voser set at work to create a first 3D model of the final mod. The basis is going to be cut from a massive aluminium block and it will be the fundament of the entire project to which all the other parts will be connected. Place directly on the aluminium block there will be the power supply which is afterwards going to be nicely covered in order to hide all the cables away. Over the power supply there comes a motherboard tray as well as a little carriage for the SSD. The entire mod is then covered by numerous red fins which will be made of red acrylic glass, giving the project a very cool and unique shape.

  • Ground plate
  • Fin carrier
  • Distance pipes
  • Mainboard tray
  • Fan bezels
  • Cover for power supply
  • Divers fins made of acrylic glass
  • SSD carriage

In order to professionally manufacture the ASUS ROG Mod using a five axis milling machine, Marc "Besi" Voser needed to create a CAD 3D model which he also rendered that we all can have a nice look at it.

Now Marc "Besi" Voser has to go manufacture the different parts. As soon as he finished to do so we're going to present to you the next part of the series. If you want to chat with Besi, check out our forum thread and you'll never know ... there might be a chance that he discloses some more stuff from later phases of the project.
