Display / Input Devices

Display

Most certainly, the display is about the best part the EliteBook 8760w has to offer. HP put an IPS panel in place which offers highly vivid colors, an exceptionally good contrast ratio and an equally good level of brightness which in this case is 270 candela per squaremeter. This 17.3 inch display definitely belongs to the best we've ever seen. Also the viewing angle is very good. What makes it comfortable and pleasing to look at, is the fact, that HP decided to make use of an anti-glare-type display. Nevertheless the black level still is very good. The full HD resolution offer plenty of workspace although the predecessor of this notebook came with a 1920 x 1200 pixel display. Why do we mention this? The answer is simple: this display is that good that you simply can't get enough of it.

Input Devices

With the input peripherals HP again did a perfect job regarding the EliteBook 8760w. The keyboard for example allows a highly comfortable typing. The surface of the keys is a little bit rough and offers a very pleasant user experience. The key strokes go easily but still there is a release point which is well chosen. Furthermore HP decided to equip the 8760w with a full size keyboard as well as a numberpad right next to it.

Even the touchpad is perfect. The user experience is very comfortable and the surface is just how any manufacturer should do it. Even two-finger-scrolling, like you might know it from Apples multi touch touchpads goes easily and without an effort and this really is something only a handful of manufacturers a capable of offering. In total there are six buttons located around the mousepad which once again are very nice to use and the release pressure is perfect. Furthermore they produce almost no noise when pushing them.
