Chassis / Design / Build quality
Already at a first glance one can see that with
the EliteBook 8760w, HP has a very high quality business-line product in its
portfolio. The design is plain and simple and very pleasing. HP understood it to
combine aluminium and plastic in a clever way, that in the end, it generates an
attractive and homogenous overall picture. Furhtermore the case is also very
stable and offers a high level of stiffness. A closer look at the displays
hinge-joints reveals that they're mad of massive aluminium which guarantees a
long lifespan. These connection pieces also prevent annoying lupping of the
display. It is also quite remarkable that this huge notebook "only" weight 3.47
Kilogram. We've seen lots of gaming notebooks which are both, heavier and
wieder. Therefore the 8760w could not only be used as a desktop replacement in
the executives office it can still be carried from one meeting to another.
Simple and with a certain amount of understatement,
that's how HP put this notebooks name - EliteBook Workstation - in place. The
orange colored writing, perfectly suits the different shades of gray and silver
that the materials are kept in. We also like the connectors design very much.
The frame they have, looks really nice.
