Like its predecessor the
P67A-UD4, the Z68X-UD4-B3 really is able to convince us. Also with this
board you get Gigabytes new color scheme which in our opionion is the
best looking at the moment. The layout has been very well thought too and
there is almost nothing that could have been done better. For example there are
the connectors at the bottom edge which are always accessible. There
won't be any graphics cards covering them because there is a PCI slot
inbetween. Gigabyte equipped the Z68X-UD4-B3 with a HDMI connector which underlines the marketsegment this product aims at. Therefore also the price targets the midrange sector. |

Generally the Gigabyte Z68X-UD4-B3s layout is very well thought. Once more very practical are the angled SATA connectors. Unfortunately their is neither a debug LED nor a power- or reset-button. On the other hand the placement of the PCI-Express x16 slots is very well chosen and the fact that there are two PCI-Express x1 slots inbetween the PCI-Express x16 slots lets a SLI/CrossFire-Setup breathe appropriately. Furthermore the two last slots are legacy PCI slots which means that even a graphics card with a triple slots cooler wont block the connectors at the bottom edge of the board. | - Angled SATA connectors - Connectors a the bottom edge accessible in any case |
- PCI-Express x1 slot too close to
the northbridge cooler
- No Power/Reset-Button onboard - No Debug display |

This board really was able to convice regarding performance. Therefore in a lot of benchmarks it's been able to score very well. In SuperPi, SiSoft Sandra as well as 3DMark Vantage you often find this thing leading our charts. Only WPrime and 3DMark 11 CPU could have really been better. | -

Overclocking / BIOS | + | - | |
Focussing only on the settings, overclocking definitely isn't something unknown for the Z68X-UD3-B3. Furthermore we also reached the maximum clock speed of our test CPU, which is 5'200 MHz. Taking a closer look at the Gigabyte Z68X-UD3-B3's BIOS reveals that it's once again well structured. You'll quickly find all the different settings and it also resets itself if you should set values that do not work. | - Well structured BIOS
