Conclusion

In genral   + -
From a design point of view ASRock did a really convincing job with the P67 Profess1onal Fatal1ty. We definitely liked it and in combination with the ten onboard SATA ports for example it will not only attract gamers we think that also PC enthusiasts will like this motherboard. We also liked that there was plenty of space between the different PCI-Express x16 slots which lets graphics card in a multi GPU setup breathe appropriately.   - Design - 10 SATA Ports
- Price

Layout   + -

Generally the P67 Profess1onal Fatal1ty's layout is well thought. Once more very practical are the angled SATA connectors as well as the power-, reset- and CLR-CMOS buttons. Also the debug display can become very useful in case you should have issues with a component in your system or the board itself. Furthermore the placement of the PCI-Express x16 slots is well thought too and therefore nothing needs to be criticized at this point. The only thing we didn't like was that the if you install a video card in the last PCI-Express x16 slot, the connectors at the bottom edge of the board will be covered. What was also very practical is that ASRock provided this board with additional holes around the CPU socket that it became compatible with socket 775 coolers.

  - Angled SATA connectors - Power/Reset/CLR-CMOS-Button onboard
- LED Debug display
- Holes for socket 775 coolers
- Connectors at bottom edge of the board can be covered by a video card

Performance   + -
In general this board performs really well. There is only one glitch in Wprime where it scores second to last. In all the other benchmarks the P67 Fatal1ty Professional was able to convince. You'll find the board in the top fourth of our comparison tables and for the Futuremark benchmarks it turned out to be very efficient. In three out of four Futuremark tests the P67 Fatal1ty scored first. Looking at 2D benchmarks reveals that the board is also competitive at this point. Furthermore there are the gaming benchmarks which leave us with mixed feelings. In Resident Evil 5 the the Fatal1ty score first but in the other two benchmarks the results were in the bottom third.   - Very good performance - WPrime

Overclocking / BIOS   + -
Focussing only at the settings overclocking definitely isn't something unknown for the P67 Fatal1ty Professional. Unfortunately it wasn't possible to overclock our CPU to more than 4'600 MHz. Using all the other P67 boards it's been possible to reach 5'200 MHz but with the Fatal1ty is absolutely wasn't possible to squeeze more than 4'600 MHz out of the CPU. Looking at the Fatal1tys EFI BIOS we find it well structured. You'll quickly find all the different settings and it also resets itself if you should set values that do not work.   - Well structured BIOS

- Bad overclockability

Recommendation   + -
If you want to build a gaming PC then the ASrock P67 Fatal1ty Professional will be a very good choice. Because of the fact that there are ten SATA ports this board could also be used for a storage server in your home network. The only thing we would recommend other boards concerns overclocking. At this point ASRock should take a closer look at the Fatal1ty because 4'600 MHz was way below what we were able to reach with all the other P67 motherboards.   - Gaming PC - Office PC
- Overclocking

The ASRock P67 Fatal1ty Professional can be bought at Digitec to a price of CHF 244.- (est. EUR 174.-).
