Allgemein   + -
With the P67A-GD65, MSI has a rock solid motherboard in its portfolio. Therefore this board was able to convince with a decent design as well as reasonable performance figures which were consistent. This board becomes especially interesting if you take a closer look at the pricing. For CHF 200.- (est EUR 143.-) one gets a high quality Sandy Bridge motherboard which is really competitive.   - Layout

Layout   + -

Generally the MSI P67A-GD65s layout is well thought. Once more very practical are the angled SATA connectors as well as the power- and reset-buttons. Furthermore the placement of the PCI-Express x16 slots is well thought too and therefore nothing needs to be criticized at this point. In fact we also liked that between the PCI Express x16 slots there are two PCI Express x1 slots which means that if you want to have to GPUs powering your games they'll get plenty of air and stay cool.

  - Angled SATA connectors - Power/Reset-Button onboard
- Connectors at the bottom edge not hidde by GPU

Performance   + -
This board comes with a solid basic performance and it's even faster than MSIs flaghip, the Big Bang Marshal. On average you'll find the P67A-GD65 in the center span of our comparison tables and there also are no glitches. Only the Futuremark Vantage result has been a bit different. At this point the P67A-GD65 scored first.   -3D-Benchmarks

Overclocking   + -
For the P67A-GD65 overclocking isn't something unknown. If you've been able to find the suitable settings it reacts frogiving even if you on purpose choose settings that will not work. If you consider buying this motherboard for extreme overclocking we have to tell you that there really are better boards out there on the market. A bit annoying was the BIOS. We couldn't find a red line which guids through all the different settings. There also were far too many subcategories and generally it looks very badly structured.   - EFI BIOS

- confusing BIOS - Takes long to get used to

Recommendation   + -
Generally spoken we can recommend the MSI P67A-GD65 to gamers and allrounder who are looking for a board that comes with a decent design and solid performance.   - Gamer-PC
