Conclusion

Allgemein   + -
In our opinion the P67A-UD7 is without a doubt one of the most beautiful boards ever introduced to the market. The layout has been very well thought and there is only one thing which could have been done better. The concerns the PCI-Express slot which has been placed right next to the northbridge cooler. As a result it is almost useless. On the other hand there are the connectors at the bottom edge which are always accessible. There won't be any graphics cards covering them because there is a PCI slot inbetween.
Once again we have to mention the new color scheme: we have been very surprised that Gigabyte had the courage to now produce boards with an entirely new design!

Layout   + -

Generally the Gigabyte P67A-UD7s layout is very well thought. Once more very practical are the angled SATA connectors as well as the power- and reset-buttons. Also the debug display can become very useful in case you should have issues with a component in your system or the board itself. Furthermore the placement of the PCI-Express x16 slots is well thought too and therefore nothing needs to be criticized at this point. The only thing we didn't like about the layout concerns the PCI-Express x1 slot right next to the northbridge cooler. It has been place that close the it's almost useless.

  - Angled SATA connectors - Power/Reset-Button onboard
- Debug display
- Connectors a the bottom edge accessible in any case
- PCI-Express x1 slot too close to the northbridge cooler

Performance   + -
Talking about performance the P67A-UD7 definitely shows good numbers. In the theoretical 3D benchmarks as well as in all the game tests this board is always fighting for the first position in our comparison tables. Also in the memory benchmarks the results ar good. The only thing which could be a bit better is Super Pi and Wprime. At the moment there definitely are boards which are more efficient regarding performance. Probably Gigabyte will be able to improve the performance in these benchmarks with upcoming BIOS updates.   - Memory bandwidth - 3D performance

Overclocking   + -
Overclocking is definitely nothing unknown for Gigabytes P67A-UD7. You'll quickly find watever settings you need to adequately overclock this board. If you did some research before entering all the settings concerning voltages and clock frequencies which work well than it will take you ten minutes and you'll see first successes. Furthermore this board is also very forgiving if you should choose setting which do not work. The only thing which could probably be changed is the BIOS itself. It would be nice to also see Gigabyte boards with EFI BIOS.   - Easy to use and forgiving   - No EFI BIOS

Recommendation   + -
Generally spoken we can recommend the Gigabyte P67A-UD7 to any gamer, overclocker or enthusiast who's willing to pay a bit more for a high quality motherboard that in return comes with astonishing looks, good performance and a lot of accessories.   - Gamer-PC
- Overclocker-PC
- Enthusiast

The Gigabyte P67A-UD7 can be bought at Digitec to a price of CHF 363.- (est. EUR 259.-).
