Fazit

Allgemein   + -
With its Big Bang XPower has a high-end motherboard in its portfolio which is not only well equipped it also shows very good 3D-Performance, especially in Futuremark and also Design and Layout are well thought and nice to look at. Generally this board is an excellent allrounder and it's able to convince overclockers or enthusiasts in about every possible scenario.   - 16 Phase Power Design
- Allrounder

Layout   + -

The Big Bang XPower left a very clean and well structured impression. What we think is a very good idea was to remove the onboard sound and put a PCI-express sound module into the box. Of course once more there are the angled SATA connectors which are practical. Furthermore there are even measuring points to precisely read out voltages using a volt meter. What you also get is a dip switch which allows higher voltages for extreme overclocking.

  - Angled SATA connectors - Power- / Reset- / CLR CMOS-Button onboard
- Design
- Too many components onboard

Performance   + -
Talking about performance the Big Bang XPower ranges almost at the top. The boards strenghts were the game benchmarks where it was able to score really well. In the Futuremark benches it almost dominated. Also the results regarding memory bandwidth are very well. Only SiSoft Sandra's arithmetics test and SuperPi 1m it lacks behind.   - 3D Benchmarks
- Games
- SiSoftSandra Test 1

Overclocking   + -
Overclocking definitely isn't something unknown for the MSI Big Bang XPower. In our tests it's been able to reach 225 MHz BCLK which really is way more than enough even if you want to bring for example DDR3 16'000 modules to their limit. Furthermore the Big Bang is also easy to overclock and it's also forgiving if you choose settings which will not work.   - BCLK 225+ MHz
- V-Regulator

Recommendation   + -
The MSI Big Bang XPower definitely is a motherboard for PC-enthusiasts and Overclockers. It comes with a huge delivery but also with very good performance. Therefore it's a red hot aspirant for a new gaming-, overclocking- or enthusiasts PC.   - Allrounder
- PC-Enthusiasts

- Office PC
