The Big Bang XPower left a very clean and well structured impression. What we think is a very good idea was to remove the onboard sound and put a PCI-express sound module into the box. Of course once more there are the angled SATA connectors which are practical. Furthermore there are even measuring points to precisely read out voltages using a volt meter. What you also get is a dip switch which allows higher voltages for extreme overclocking. |

Talking about performance the Big Bang XPower ranges almost at the top. The boards strenghts were the game benchmarks where it was able to score really well. In the Futuremark benches it almost dominated. Also the results regarding memory bandwidth are very well. Only SiSoft Sandra's arithmetics test and SuperPi 1m it lacks behind. | -

Overclocking | + | - | |
Overclocking definitely isn't something unknown for the MSI Big Bang XPower. In our tests it's been able to reach 225 MHz BCLK which really is way more than enough even if you want to bring for example DDR3 16'000 modules to their limit. Furthermore the Big Bang is also easy to overclock and it's also forgiving if you choose settings which will not work. | -
