As we mentioned before, the New Ark 90 is a full-tower case and it's compatible with E-ATX motherboard. Like most of the cases around, the motherboard is placed vertically and thanks to the size of the case you will not run into any compatibility issues. The motherboard tray is made of solid steel, and it features a big cut out behind the socket, which allows the user to install aftermarket CPU coolers when the motherboard has already been installed. There is a total of five rubber grommets, which allows for neat cable management. Between the motherboard tray and the right side panel there is enough space to hide plenty of cables. The case shares the latest features regarding internal layout, like for instance is a big mid plate covering the power supply cables.
Storage wise, the New Ark 90 supports up to three 3.5" HDDs and three 2.5" SSDs, both in dedicated places and well hidden. While the HDD cage is placed in the bottom front area, the SSD sledges are both placed behind and in front the motherboard tray. The hard disk tray looks tool-less however each bay is secured via a screw, so they aren't quite as hot-swappable as they first appear.
For testing purposes we used a MSI Z370 Gaming Pro Carbon AC motherboard and the pre-installed Deepcool 280mm AiO water cooler and we did not run into any mounting or compatibility issues. As you might have seen from the pictures, the New Ark 90 comes with eight expansion slots and two additional vertical slots. Although the case offers a lot of space for components, the height of our tiny ASUS GTX 1050 card slightly hit against the frame of the vertical slots. We have installed the card with some more pressure, however we would like to see more space in this area because the plastic shroud on the GPU can be very thick sometimes.
Building a PC based on this case is very easy and quick since the CPU cooler as well as the radiator are already installed. After having had put our test system together the final looks were very aesthetically pleasing. Especially the custom lighting is just great. |
