Conclusion

General   + -
Fractal Design had a good idea creating a compact NAS case for the "build-your-own-fraction" but they definitely haven't been able to convince us. The Array really looks like an unfinished product which is a pity because the high qualitative material which has been used. The most annoying thing about this case is the fact that you have to remove tons of screws until you can put in a hard drive or even worse a motherboard. We can't stop asking ourselves why it wasn't possible to equip the case with thumb screws which are located a the cases back. Furthermore there is the Price which is way above CHF 200.- (est. EUR 130.-). This really is too much for this case! Thinking about a case in this price range we'd definitely look for Lian Li.
Another thing which might scare off lots of buyers is the fact that you'll have to buy an external drive to install an operating system because there is no 5.25 inch bay.
  - Price
- Ergonomic issues

Manufacturing quality / Ergonomics   + -
Positively surprise we were by the good manufacturing quality. Every single piece fits perfectly. But you do not need to look far until you get disappointed. As soon as you remove the base plate to install the motherboard you'll see that that wiring requires the base plate to be tightened to the case again. End the end this means that there is almost no space at all to plug in all the SATA and other cables which is very unergonomic.   -Manufacturing quality
-space for up to 6 Harddrives
-Possibility to install a SSD harddrive
- too much screws
- no 5,25" multidrive bay
- no I/O Panel

Design   + -
This Mini ITX case is able to score with its very good looks. Obviously the premise therefore was the easier the better. Also the manufacturing quality is very good and the fact that only aluminium has been used makes the final product weight only 4.1 kg.   - high quality material

Recommendation   + -
The Fractal Mini ITX Case we recommend to people who are looking for an expensive and good looking NAS case to build it themselves. Futhermore you should also be of a patient nature.   - NAS - Multimedia PC

The Fractal Mini ITX Case can be bought at Digitec to a price of CHF 216.- (est. EUR 152.-).
