At a first glance you'll see the big holes. One is right above the power supply and located under the other there are the two 5.25'' drive bays. If you for example install a Mini-ITX board all it can be wired comfortably.
Also very useful in the daily life of a tester are the distance bolts which are made of plastic. After you put them into the corresponding holes you can take your mainboard an "click it in".
The two most interesting things about the ground plate is the mesh structure below the power supply unit and the big rubber feet. For us these feet were a bit too big and grippy. We like to be able to move the test station without lifting it up but the feet provided are that grippy that this is almost impossible. Furthermore if you like you can fix drives with screws from the underside.
