Conclusion

Allgemein   + -
As expected the MSI X99A Godlike Gaming is a well-built motherobard which comes with a plethora of features. There is for example the so called "Dragon Armor" shield with integrated RGB lighting. Apart from that there is a very decent power design next to other high quality components. These days the X99 Godlike Gaming sells for 553 Euro, which is seriously expensive. MSI does ask quite something from you if you want the X99A Godlike Gaming in all its glory. Good to have, are the two USB 3.1 ports and apart from that there is also an M.2 x4 Gen3 slot.   - Design

Layout   + -

The MSI X99A Godlike Gaming 's layout has been well thought. Once more practical are the angled SATA connectors. Apart from that there are alle features overclockers want such as onboard power and reset buttons as well as debug LED and OC Genie button for less experienced overclockers. In total there are five full-sized PCI Express slots and all of them feature metal reinforcements. Apart from that you should be aware, that this is an EATX form factor motherboard and therefore it's quite a bit larger than your usual ATX PCB.

  - Angled SATA connectors
- Space around the CPU socket - 5 x full-size PCIe with metal reinforcement

Performance   + -
Having a closer look at overall 2D as well as 3D performance shows this board comes in 11th in 2D and 10th in 3D. Overall performance is ok but unfortunately there are a few glitches. On another note we had a look at power consumption and it turns out that this board scores 9th in our energy efficiency ranking, while we've tested 15 boards.   - SiSoft Sandra Multimedia - Cinebench R15

Overclocking / BIOS   + -
As you might be expecting it from MSI, you get a really good BIOS. It offers not only a lot of tuning and tweaking options but is also very easy to use. Especially with the entry screen with which MSI is trying - and also succeeding - to add elements which make the BIOS much easier to use for unexperienced users as well.   - Clear arrangement - Sheer amount of options

Recommendation   + -
The X99A Godlike Gaming costs about 553 Euro these days. The price tag is really hefty and should you be looking for good looking and solid board and at the same time not care about the price, then this is a good choice.   - Enthusiast
