Conclusion

Générale   + -
As expected the ASUS X99 Sabertooth is a well-built motherobard that comes with a plethora of features. Like with all Sabertooth motherboards the X99 model also received the TUF armor, which consists of a front cover and a reinforcement plate on the back. Other than that there is a very decent power design next to other high quality components. These days the X99 Sabertooth sells at 333 Euro, which definitely not cheap. ASUS does ask quite something from you if you want the X99 Sabertooth in all its glory. Good to have are the two USB 3.1 ports and apart from that there is also an M.2 slot.   - Design

Layout   + -

The ASUS X99 Sabertooth's layout has been well thought. Once more practical are the angled SATA connectors. There is no debug display and there aren't power and reset buttons. Luckily, if you want to read out post codes and a lot of other information, you can attach you smartphone to the board via USB and use the TUF Detective App for advanced diagnostics. A closer look at the placement of the PCI-Express x16 slots shows that there is a total of three of them. Should you want to do that, you can go ahead and build a powerful dual-GPU system using this board as a basis.

  - Ports SATA inclinés à 90°
- Espace autour du socket

Performance   + -
Having a closer look at overall 2D as well as 3D performance shows this board comes in 6th in 2D and 3rd in 3D. Overall performance is therefore good but unfortunately there are a few glitches. On another note we had a look at power consumption and it turns out that this board burns quite a lot of power especially under idle, where it only ranks second from to the bottom. Under load the Sabertooth X99 scores 9th place out of 13.   - 3DMark 11

Overclocking / BIOS   + -
The BIOS of the Sabertooth X99 is identical from what you get with other recent ASUS motherboards these days the only difference is the backgound color. This means the basic structure and also the design has not been changed. Overall the structure is easy to understand and even if you're not a very experienced user you will find the things you'd like to change. Also overclocking is easy with this board and it was easily possible to push our review CPU to 4.6 GHz stably.   - Agencement clair - Beaucoup d'options

Recommandation   + -
The Sabertooth X99 is listed at Geizhals at 333 Euro. At this price you get well-performing motherboard which is an allrounder regarding the X99 platform. If you're looking for an overall good X99 motherboard then the Sabertooth X99 is a solid choice.   - Enthusiast
