Acoustics
Headphone
The VOID Stereo headset was a rather pleasant surprise and the sound is, in our opinion, well balanced. While testing this headset we found it has great reproduction of highs, mids and bass. Overall Corsair did a good job from this point of view. Listening to very high volume we hear some distortion in the audio signal. If you love deep and strong bass, we recommend using an equalizer. Compared to other gaming headsets we've had for testing the overall quality is excellent, which is something we've come to expect from Corsair's gaming headsets. The company decided to use 50 mm drivers and the ear cups have been made from soft cloth cushions. Compared to leatherette ear cushions there is less passive noise cancelling, which means you can hear other people talking next to you. Apparently Corsair succeeded in cerating a comfortable headset, which sounds really nice. Nevertheless we believe that in the case of a gaming headset very good passive noise cancelling makes a lot of sense. Especially when you visit LAN parties the environment can be rather noisy and passive noise cancelling really helps in this case.
Microphone
The microphone on this headset is very good and so is the design. As you can see from the pictures there is a small button on the left ear cup, which is easily accessible. The VOID is capable of making your voice sound very natural and it doesn't matter whether you're talking over TeamSpeak or Skype.
