Ergonomics

The symmetric body the Abyssus comes with is suitable for left- as well as right-handed people and it furthermore lies swiftly in your hand. The two, quite long main buttons come with a comfortable release point and allow quick and precise klicking. Unfortunately Razer didn't provide the Abyssus with a thumb button which we would wish to be changed in a future revision.

Gliding characteristics

Even though the Abyssus is equipped with small gliding pads the mouse hovers very smoothly over different surfaces. The mouse therefore always does what it is asked for. Furthermore there is only little noise when you move it.

Precision / Speed

The DPI settings can be changed quickly using one of the two toggle switches on the bottom side of the mouse. Therefore three steps are available: 450 DPI, 1800 DPI and 3500 DPI. To adjust the polling rate you also have to do this by using the toggle switch to the left of the laser. In this case you can choose between 125Hz and 1000 Hz. A polling rate of 1000 Hz will even track the fastest wrist movement without any loss in precision.
