ASUS provided the Sabertooth 55i with a black PCB. The memory slots received brwon-tones and cooling blocks are covered with olive-green. Optically ASUS goes new ways with their camouflage design and they are therefore able to stand out from the masses.

Unique with the Sabertooth is the power design in ASUS's new "TUF ENGINE Power Design". The CPU therefore gets 12 phases, the memory gets two phases and even the VVT_CPU can draw its power from two different phases. Furthermore all the capacitors and mosfets used with the "TUF"-Series have been tested to comply with military standard.

Totally you'll find four DIMM-slots on the Sabertooth. Officially supported are DDR3-2000/180/1600/1333/1066 with up to 16 GByte capacity. If you take a closer look at the memory banks you can see that at the end which is closer to the graphics card there is another kind of clamping mechnism. It allows you to install the memory easier even if there is already a graphics card in your system.

Southbridge as well as current converters are being held at adequate temperatures via passive cooling elements made of aluminium and ceramic. There is also plenty of space around the CPU socket to install even todays biggest aircooler without encountering any problems.
