Allgemein   + -
The Asus Sabertooth 55i is the first motherboard out of the "Thu Ultimate Force"-Series. It is equipped with a lot of features like the military approved capacitors and MOSFETs as well as the ceramic chipset and current converter coolers. Therefore the board definitely aims at gamers and pc-enthusiasts and also comes with a lot of stuff in the package.   - Special capacitors and MOSFETs
- Design

Layout   + -

The Sabertooth 55i leaves a well structured and clean impression. The colours are well chosen and the optics are a really convincing reason for this product, especially if you should like camouflage design. In this case you'll definitely love this motherboard. The fact that there are angled SATA connectors also makes setting up a new rig quite comfortable. The only issue we spotted is that when you use two graphics cards you wont be able to use the connectors at the bottom edge of the mainboard. Especially we would wish that there were no straight SATA port but unfortunately there are four.

  - Camouflage Look
- Attention to detail
- Angled SATA connectors
- Power- / Reset- / CLR CMOS-Button onboard
- Connectors at the bottom edge

Performance   + -
Talking about performance the Sabertooth isn't always able to show us its theeth. In 3D Mark its ranked in the center span. The same picture we see in the game benchmarks. In fact the only benchmarks it performed really well were the memory bandwidth test with Sisoft Sandra. Generally we would like to see a bit more consistency in the performance figures.   - Memory bandwidth

Overclocking   + -
Overclocking isn't something unknown for the Sabertooth 55i. Quickly you'll find suitable settings in the clearly arranged BIOS and especially important for beginners is the fact that the board also is very forgiving if you should chose settings that don't work. But on the other hand if you're looking for a motherboard to do extreme overclocking there definitely are better products available on the market.   - BCLK 220 MHz

Recommendation   + -
Generally spoken we recommend the Sabertooth 55i especially to gamers and PC-enthusiasts who like this motherboards camouflage look. In a gaming case with side window it will make a good impression, that's for sure.   - Gamer
- PC-Enthusiasts
- Desktop-PC

The ASUS Sabertooth 55i can be bought at Brack to a price of CHF 269.- (est. EUR 183.-).
