Software Part 1
Clicking the tab "Button
assignements" you'll find the page to configure the XAIs ten different buttons.
Unfotunately you cannot reconfigure button one. We are aware of the fact that
the majority of all gamers uses this buttons for the primary action but there
are people who intend to use a left-hand-profile whilst being a right-handed
player.
A nice feature is the possiblity to choose between a left and a right hand mode.
As soon a you've finished configuring your XAI you are able to save your
personal profile to the onboard memory the mouse comes with. By clicking button
number ten you can switch profiles which you on an LCD that is located on the
underside of the mouse.
Using the LCD you're able to fully configure the mouse without the software
In the
"Hardware settings" tab you can configure SteelSeries FreeMove, SteelSeries
ExactSense, SteelSeries ExactAim, SteelSeries ExactRate and the additional
automatic adaption to the liftdistance.
- ExactSense controls how fast your cursor moves in relation to how much you move your mouse (Counts Per Inch or CPI).
- ExactRate is the
Report rate (also known as polling rate) and determines the number of reports
sent every second by your mouse to your computer. teelSeries ExactRate allows
you to define a limit to this data and you can allow it to correspond to your
in-game frame rate and monitor refresh rate for a homogenous, synchronous and
consistently smooth mousing experience.
- ExactAim offers you total
control over the amount of jitter correction and prediction calculations that
are applied to the raw movement data the sensor reads from the surface. This is
especially desirable when the mouse is used on a surface/mouse pad that hasn't
been optimized for high precision gaming.
- FreeMove makes it easier for the user to draw straight lines,
do generic office tasks and similar work. It is not so great for gamers who demand extreme precision and consistent accuracy.
Pressing the button "Get more Profiles" opens a browser
window that lets you download different profiles from "pro-gamers".
