The ASRock P55 Extreme presents itself on a brown PCB. All the components are clearly arranged and they are easily accessible. Regarding graphic card slots you'll find three PCIe slots supporting everything up to CrossFireX and SLI (x8 / x8 / x4). In single mode the your graphic card gets an x16 connection and in dual mode the slots will be driven with x8/x8. The slots are also quite practical. If you look at the right hand side of them you find just a small gap which keeps the cards better in place. If you now want to remove a card you don't need to switch a clamp or anything similar.

To deliver a stable power design ASRock equipped the P55 Extreme with an eight phase design for which DuraCap capacitors were used. Compared to standard caps they provide a 2.5 times longer lifespan. Furthermore you'll find plenty of space around the CPU socket to install ever massiv CPU coolers.

Totally you'll find four DIMM-slots on the ASRock P55 Extreme. Officially supported are DDR3-2600+(OC)/2133(OC)/1866(OC)/1600/1333/1066/800 with up to 16 GByte capacity.

North-and Southbridge as well as current voltage converters are being held at adequate temperatures via a passive cooling solution. Looking at the current converter coolers it looks like ASRock was inspired by a cars engine block.
