Conclusion

In cooperation with professional gamers, Steelseries created an overall very good gaming mouse which can be used for office purposes and shows off all its abilities in Fist Person Shooters. Very practical is the fact that with the integrated onboard memory the mouse, even with already specially programmed buttons, can be plugged into every computer without the need to install a driver.

The Ikari Laser can be used wether if you're left- or right-handed and it allows a very natural position of your hand. A well defined pressure point for every button is also very comfortable. Using the flattened, grippy mouse wheel also scrolling can be done absolutely effortlessly. The relatively flat construction can be a disadvantage if you are the sort of gamer who likes to lift the mouse up. Especially if you in the case have big hands problems can be expected.

Generally the mouse comes with exceptionally good gliding characteristics. The big pads allow a very homogeneous experience. Paird with low weight and an low center of gravity it nearly feels that you have no mouse in your hand. You therefore also get very good percision no matter if you're doing sudding or continuous movements.
Using the button just behind the scroll wheel you can switch the sensitivity between low and high. There is only one small problem: if you are some kind of a slightly impulsive gamer you might throw you mouse over the table. In the case the mouse often hit the table exactly on the profile switching button.

The Ikari Laser Gaming Mouse can be bought at Digitec to a price of CHF 96.- (est. EUR 64.-).
