Installation

In principle mounting the Accelero Xtreme GTX280 on a GTX260, GTX280 or GTX285 should be simple. The most difficult part is when installing the Accelero Xtreme is not the Accelero itself it is the removal of stock cooler which can cause headache. You'll need courage and some gentle force. After the stock cooler is removed Arctic Cooling recommends cleaning the memory chips using a rubber. If you don't clean the memory chips thorougly, we even recommend to use alcohol, the memory coolers will fall off becaus they are only pasted to the chips. The GPU cooler is going to be mounted using four screws which should be tightened gently in order not to bend the card too much. When you finally put the card, carrying the cooler, into your system you'll see how big this thing is with all the positive and negative aspects. In our test system the cooler collided with the straight SATA connectors.
