Construction and design

Construction

The Alpenföhn Brocken consists of aluminium and copper. Four eight millimeter heatpipes establish direct contact to the CPU. Furthermore the 51 fins are cooled via a 120 mm LED-fan.

The four massive heatpipes built from copper establish direct contact with the CPU and immediately catch the beholders view.

As you can see on the image above there are small gaps between the Heatpipes and the cooler ground plate.

Design

EKLs Alpenföhn Brocken comes with a nice look. Through arranging the fins in groups an the bend in the middle they get an interesting structure. The shape is underlined by a nice nickel coat. The black transparent fan carries four violett LEDs which provide the cooler with a nice illumination.

Lenghtwise to cooler has a V-shaped notch which can also be found hightwise. Every third fin has been shortened in its lenght. Right on the edge of the fins you'll also notice a notch to easier attacht the fan to the cooler.

The 120 mm fans is held in a dark but transparent color. The four LED illuminate the fan with violette light and generate an optical accent. If the fan is driven at 12 Volts we describe its noise as subjectively audible. The 1500 rpm are enough to hold the Brocken at adequate temperatures.
