If you compare Tomb Raider Underworld with its predecessors the gameplay hasn't been touched heavily. Lara still jumps, climbs and swings herself from one obstacle to another whilst shooting everything that could be a possible danger. She also has some new moves in petto which all seem to be executed in a slightly softer way.
Also the levels haven been adapted that Lara now is able to climb up adnate walls if they're solid enough. The level of difficulty has been lowered a little so that the player won't turn off the game frustrated.
Lara is still controled in 3rd person view. In Tomb Raider Underworld there is also the possibility to ride motorbikes and perform huge jumps over obstacles.
