Installation

The installation process for the Thermalright IB-E X2 CPU cooler is quite simple and easy. Thermalright kept everything nice and clean as there aren't too many mounting parts. The thermal compound comes in a 1g syringe and its more than enough for a single installation. Using the backplate and the screws provided in the bundle while looking at the manual makes everything easy. The overall pressure on the CPU is quite good and you get a single, universal, backplate with two different mounting screws to keep the CPU cooler in place. There is really nothing much to complain about, since this cooler is compatible with any modern CPU socket. Considering a decent price point, this is certainly a pleasant surprise.

Due to its slim-design, the Thermalright IB-E X2 does not block any memory slots or interfere with any other components for that matter, even when using both fans in a push-pull configuration. The fan clips are easy and practical to use. The clips are made specifically for TY-141 fans and can not be used with other fans.
