Connectique et I/O

ASRock equipped the X99E-ITX/AC with six SATA ports. Four of which have been angled by 90 degrees and the two straight ones, directly above the PCI Express x16 connector can be combined to form a SATA-Express header. There is also an Ultra-M.2 x4 expansion slot, which has been connected through four PCI Express lanes. Overall there is good storage flexibility with this motherboard, although it's within the boundries set by the small form factor in combination with the huge X99 chipset. Looking for practical onboard power- and reset-buttons as well as a debug LEDs we can't find any. The reason for this is simple again: there is not enough space.

In total there are three fan headers on the ASRock X99E-ITX/AC which is enough, to provide a well equipped high-end system or also a workstation with fresh air. The fan headers are located around the CPU socket as well as spread over the motherboard. All headers offer 4 pins, which means that you can control fan speeds from within BIOS or Windows.

Looking at the external connectors directly at the back-panel ASRock equipped the X99E-ITX/AC with one PS2 mouse/keyboard connector, two USB 3.1 ports, four USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, two gigabit ethernet ports, an eSATA connector as well as an optical out and an analogue audio panel. Furtheremore you'll also find a clear CMOS-reset button.
