Closer Look
As soon as you lift the TKL PRO, you realize how sturdy and solid
this keyboard actually is. ROCCAT has created a keyboard that gives you a sense of maximum quality at any time, and
as far as we are concerned, it did a pretty good job. The whole keyboard is made of plastic material with different finish, including the wrist rest.
Despite that the TKL PRO should be considered as a compact gaming keyboard, the dimensions of the product are
quite large, especially thanks to the palm rest that is integrated into the chassis. There is no USB
hub or audio jacks and the only interface you will find on the TKL PRO is the USB
plug you need
in order to connect it to the PC. The ROCCAT TKL PRO is a mechanical keyboard and uses Cherry MX switches (available with Cherry MX Brown / Black / Red / Blue switches).
The left side of the
ROCCAT TKL PRO does not feature any programmable keys but only three thumb buttons
which are located close to the space bar. The top part of the keyboard features the F-keys,
which allows you to adjust sound levels, with F1 through F3, while F5 to F8
gives you access to usual multimedia keys which gives you an ability to play,
stop or pause videos and music.
The Cherry MX Brown switches are perfect for all those who do not call themselves
"hardcore
gamers", since these are also good for typing. The key pressure is precise and linear
and the feedback offered by this keyboard is definitely good. The blue backlight, with different levels of intensity and modes, is more than enough to fully illuminate the keys, and
make the keyboard very comfortable to use in the dark. On this model, as well as
on other ROCCAT products, LED block with Num, Caps and Scr are positioned close to the arrows.
Back
On the back of the keyboard,
you can find the classic label showing the serial number of the product and
channels that will help you route the USB cable.
The stability is ensured with four rubber feet well placed in the corners of the keyboard plus another, huge
one, located under the palm rest. In other words, it is practically impossible
to move the TKL PRO on the desk without raising it. Obviously, there are two little feet, also with rubber ends,
which tilt the keyboard to a certain angle.
