Connectors and I/O

ASUS equipped the Z97-Pro Wi-Fi ac with six angled SATA ports, which have been placed below the 24-pin ATX power connector. Furthermore there is a SATA Express connector as well as an M.2 slot. Equipping an office PC as well as a workstation with plenty of drives, is defintely possible. Overall we like the fact, that users get access to all of todays most common storage options. On this board there are also practical onboard power- and reset-buttons as well as a debug display.



In total you'll find six fan header on the Z97-Pro Wi-Fi ac. This is enough to provide a well equipped office PC, workstation or even a gaming rig with plenty of fresh air. The fan header are located in close proximity to the CPU socket as well as spread over the motherboard. ASUS decided to use 4-pin PWM header only, which allows the user to control rotation speeds in the BIOS or in Windows.


Looking at the external connectors at the I/O-panel ASUS equipped the Z97-Pro Wi-Fi ac with four USB 3.0/2.0 ports, two USB 2.0/1.1 ports, one gigabit ethernet port, an HDMI connector, a DisplayPort output, DVI out, VGA out as well as an optical out and an analogue audio panel. Furhtermore there are two connectors to attach antennas, which are included in the delivery.
