Headphone
To test the Razer Kraken 7.1 we have listened to a couple
of different audio sources including games, music, streaming media and high-definition movies. Razer has
decided to use 40 mm drives, which have been place in the center of big and soft bolster
which offer rather effective, passive noise cancelling. After a few days of use in various fields, we can say that the sound quality is on a good level. Unfortunately, by default this headset comes with an unbalanced preset. In our opinion, the bass is too present on the Kraken 7.1 by default and the mids and heights are too silent. Some people might appreciate this but if you prefer
a more linear audio experience, then you will definitely have to turn down the bass. Once adjusted, using a software equalizer, the headphones sound pretty good.
The 7.1 virtual surround performs very well, the audio experience with it will
be quite immersive and it is pretty cool, especially in FPS-type games.
Microphone
The microphone in our opinion is very good and the design
used by Razer is a great addition. On the Kraken 7.1 you will not find a true
remote control as there is only a small button for the activation of the microphone on the microphone itself.
