BIOS

The most recent version of Gigabyte's UEFI BIOS presents itself with an attractive design. When entering the BIOS, the overview screen you get to see is overloaded and apart from that we would expect it features a reasonable contrast between background and writings everywhere. Nevertheless, the basic structure behind the complex design can be understood at the first glance. Usually these splash screens are here to offer a starting point for beginners, but the sheer amount of information will scare less experienced users off. What is practical about the new UEFI BIOS - especially for beginners - is that the mouse can be used too, to browse the different tabs.

If you wish back the good old times, where you were racing through the menus hammering up and down arrows as well as the enter key ridiculously fast, you just have to press F2 and there you go. Since this motherboard features a very solid power design it is suitable for both gaming and high overclocking. In the BIOS you will soon notice, there are Gigabyte's usual options, which allow for altering virtually anything when it comes to overclocking. Overall, there is certainly no lack of options in this BIOS.
