Announcement:
Despite the circumstance that the rating of a product is based on as many
objective facts as possible there are factors which can have an influence on a
rating after publication. Every autor may perceive data differently over time
whereas one possible reason for example is a deeper background knowledge or
understanding of certain processes. Certain unforseen market conditions as well
as changes have the potential to render a descision made at a certain point in
time obsolete.
Checking the the performance numbers we measured up to 544 Megabyte per second
for sequential reads and 508 Megabyte per second for sequential writes.
Regarding random throughput the SP920 from ADATA has been able to achieve 90'000 IOPS
while performing random write operations and 98'600 IOPS performing random
reads. Overall the SP920 is a fast drive, actually one of the fastest we've had
for testing so far. We're seriously impressed by the random read as well as
write performance where the drive almost managed to break through the 100k
barriert. Apart from that also sequential reads are excellent.
Now it's time to head to Geizhals.at to check the price of this drive. It
turns out there are not prices listed for the 512 Gigabyte version of this
drive, just yet. Nevertheless we found prices for the 128 Gigabyte as well as
the 256 Gigabyte model. These models are being listed at Geizhals at 64 Euro and
113 Euro. Comparing with the competition this a really aggressive price tag and
therefore the SP920 is not just one of the most powerful SSDs out there right
now it's also one of the cheapest.
