The first hint for a high quality PSU we can see already when we take a first look at its case, which looks nice and is well built.

Right at the Input there is a X capacitor. On the main PCB the transient filtering stage continues with two X, four Y, two CM chokes, 2 MOV (Metal-Oxid-Varistor) and a TVS. Aditionally there is a NTC termistor for inrush curent limitation. A mechanical relais shorts the NTC termistor for normal operation. The transient filtering stage is well done.

The two bridge rectifiers got a heatsink each. The PFC booster consists of two IPP50R199CP mosfets (550V, 0.2Ohm, 17A) and a C3D10060A (600V, 10A, Qc 25nC) SiC Schottky diode. The APFC is controled by a NCP1653A from ON Semiconductor. The NCP1653A has a gate driver performance of 1.5A. This PSU has two APFC capacitors from Nippon Chemi-Con (KMQ series; 470uF, 400V, 105C each). The total capacitance of 940uF is very competitive for a 1000W PSU. Two IP50R250CP (550V, 0.25Ohm, 13 A) Mosfets are used on the primary side of the LLC resonance converter. The LLC resonance converter is controled by an ASIC with the name AA9013.
The primary side of this PSU is solid. The effort to save money however is visible. Many components are not above the spics especially in voltage rating. This also explains the TVS which is not often seen in PC PSUs.

On the secondary side eight IPP041N04N (40V, 4.1mOhm, 80A) mosfets take care of the 12V rectification. Those mosfets are directly cooled via two heatsinks. The design of the secondary side is solid. 3.3 and 5V are generated from 12V using DC-DC converter. Those are located on two daughter PCB's. The DC filtering is done using Nippon Chemi-Con capacitors. Those are extremely high end. The connection of the main PCB to the connector PCB is well done too. The connector PCB has some aditional capacitors from Capxon which are not japanese. This does not comply with the advertised statement "100% japanese Capacitors"!
