Personally I would go for a Samsung PM840 Pro. Judging by my measurements, the 840Pro should be faster under any circumstance than the LM87800. But the Seagate 600 Series is certainly a very good drive!

While it is true that the 840 Pro is a better performer overall, it is also 150% of the price of the 600 series and the performance increase really is negligible in real world use...I'm sure I won't miss the .0001 millisecond performance difference...

I just felt that the Seagate was the better value overall.

So about that backplate...apparently, when it arrived in Denver at 06:05 AM this morning..was then loaded onto a truck and sent out for delivery at 07:02 AM...and when I called at 3 PM to make sure it was still scheduled for delivery and was told it was...none of that ever happened!

Just got off the phone with yet another CSR who explained to me that my package never arrived in Aurora nor was it ever placed on a truck for delivery as the tracking stated. But conveniently, it is scheduled for delivery tomorrow...or I could drive out to the airport to pick it up at 9:00 AM tomorrow...the funny thing was, she let me know that I could have picked it up this afternoon after talking to the previous CSR!

This is why I cannot stand to have things shipped DHL...
