After years with Windows Seven, it is a bit hard try to make works all. Need time and need to use the new OS more. Anyway Window 8 is a "must have" on that device because has touchscreen and I have had a so bad experience with Window 7 and touchscreens.

About the design and style, I think that Sony is always one step forward respect other brands and also the materials are of very good quality and very pleasant to touch, as you would expect from a product with that price and with that target. The only thing that I don't like is the touchpad because basically is very tiny, but there isn't so much space on chassis.

Touchscren is very responsive and fast but I have not used so many tablet, only few, so I can't do a true comparison.




Regarding the joint behind the screen: at first sight it may be fragile and not very solid, but once in the hands you will change idea! The device is more robust than you might think and there is no play between the parts, are perfectly matched.

Some details, the hooks are one on each side and ensure the touchscreen to the keyboard.

A friend of mine has another one of these and it's really quite surprising how well built they are. When you flip the display down, it stays where it's supposed to stay and it's like you say, there are no parts moving about.

I bough a Asus TransformerBook few weeks back. 13" Tablet + keyboard dock.
It's an awesome Laptop replacement. But for a tablet it's to heavy and to big. Everytime i lie in my hammock and surf the web i use either my galaxy Note 10.1" or the Tablet+Dock, because surfing forums & stuff is easier to write with the keyboard. Win8 onscreen touch keyboard sucks badass.
And the 13" Tablet is big... too big. but also too heavy, the 900g are too much. if you hold the tablet for longer time you can feel your arms ^^
Also the Battery life is sad on a i7-3517U 4-5h Tablet mode, and 6-7h with dock. Oh... and if you put the Dock into battery mode the 500gb HDD +USB+LAN ports get deactivated -.-
Batterylife should be better with new Haswell CPU's right ?

Yes, Haswell should be less hungry for the battery.

Anyway, the Duo 13" is 1.3KG and the 11"...I can't find the weight on specs

It is in italian, but here you can see some graphs between the new Duo and old Duo, about battery life. Like 10H sufring internet.

BTW, you should look Samsung ATIV Q, that is pretty similar but has double OS: Windows + Android (for tablet).
