Acoustics
Headphone
At the point we have to start with the worst thing about the Hammer: the basse. There is almost no bass at all. You might say at this point, well we know this from other manufacturers that they also reduce the bass lines, but with most of their headsets you can use an equalizer and therefore still watch movies or listen to music and it actually sounds good. Ufortunately we're generally under the impression that Zowie put quite cheap drivers into the Hammer this must be so because also the middle tones and heights aren't as clear as they could be. For gaming the headset is still good and especially voices are clear but really that's the only thing the Hammer is good for.
Microphone
From a technical point of view the microphone is good, which means that speaking quality is clear. But again there is something we disliked. The bail where the microphone is attached to isn't flexible at all. You can only move it up and down and especially because of the fact, that the Hammer's mic is big you'll have to flip it up everytime you want to dring something. We were also missing a mute button somewhere close to the microphone.
