Acoustics

Headphone

Generally the Steelseries Siberia features a good sound quality. Bass and Treble are in a balanced proportion to each other which especially meets casual gamers needs. If you'd like to listen to music or watch a movie you'll of course find presets matching your personal preferences.
When you start a game you clearly recognize where the Siberia belongs. This is the point where it plays out its trumps. Effects as well as voices presented clearly and you can also hear exactly where you're oppenents are coming from.

Microphone

The voice quality generated by the microphone is on a good level. As soon as you activate the microphone boost in your Windows Control Panel you can be heard clearly by your mates. It seems that you're voice is being transposed and therefore sounds a bit too high. This is an advantage as well as a disadvantage at the same time. On one hand it makes the voice brighter and therefore easier to understand but on the other hand it doesn't sound original.
The fact that the microphone is removable makes it also possible to wear the headphone on the go. Therefore also the extension cable with integrated volume control is practical because you can leave it at home plugged into you computer when you're using the headphones on the go.
