The FC8 Evo case from Streacom has a very clean, professional look and is ideal for people which want absolute silence when working at their PC. The installation instructions are explained with both photos and text and if we are patient, there should be no issues. Also, there are plenty of additional accessories that can be bought from them like the slot-loading optical drive, USB 3.0 cable or IR sensor + remote.

The quest for the silent home theater computer (HTPC) is one that almost all enthusiasts have faced and either given up or achieved at some point in their life. The quest for the perfectly silent computer has gone in circles from acoustic dampening the case, to spinning down processor fans, to even using slower hard drives because the decreased speed caused less noise. We’ve come a long way since then, with more capable CPUs with lower thermal demands, CPU heatsink and fans (HSF) becoming significantly quieter and the growth of affordable solid state drives. Streacom has developed a series of chassis with this particular type of consumer in mind--one that fits appropriately in your AV component stack without it sacrificing acoustic levels. The Streacom FC5 hopes to achieve the goal of a silent HTPC with the usage of heat pipe cooling for the CPU instead of an actively cooled option.

The Streacom FC5 is unique chassis, that does exactly what it's supposed to do. Since the arrival of SSDs, the completely silent computer has become reality, and the passive cooling performance of this case is more than adequate for this. This is a very innovative product that offers quite a bit of flexibility when it comes to choosing a motherboard. If you are looking to assemble a very high-end, sharp-looking and completely silent HTPC, then this is what you want.

Today we are going to take a look at the Streacom FC5 EVO Fanless chassis which is designed for those people who are looking to build a completely silent home theatre PC. This takes things one step further than most HTPC cases which are designed to be low-noise, as there are no fans at all in this particular case.
Cases
Streacom is a German company specializing in fanless HTPC (Home Theater PC) cases. Cases from this company are all manufactured with thick aluminum sheets and come with a passive cooling solution for the CPU, using the case as a heatsink for the processor. The FC5 EVO is only 2.4" (60 mm) tall, making it the slimmest case we've ever seen. Let's check it out.

Today I will be taking a look at the F7C Evo M-ITX chassis from Streacom, another entry to the competitive world of HTPC chassis and a part of the market that has seen something of a revival in the last couple of years with the rise in high performance M-ITX motherboards.
I'll admit, until I saw this chassis I had never even heard of Streacom, but they're a relatively new company that formed in 2010 so it's understandable that they're still finding a name for them selves in some markets.
"To design, engineer, manufacture and supply a range of computer products and accessories that push the boundaries of form, function, quality and value." - Streacom
They've already established a solid product range that features active and passively cooled chassis, valve amplifiers and home entertainment solutions to name but a few, and Streacom seem to have a good team behind them from around the world and various parts of the industry that should favour them well in terms of an end product.
Priced at around £75 for the chassis, it's not exactly cheap but it's not terribly expensive either and there is a high demand in the HTPC product for products that have a premium edge about them, given that the "under the TV" spot is extreme important in many people's home cinema setup, it's often worth the extra investment to get something that looks good. New entrants to this Streacom range will however need to make a further investment into the Nano 150 PSU that basically acts like an external PSU, which at £77 is a little expensive, but not overly so for a decent quality PSU. So for the purpose of this review I'm going to consider this a combined setup of PSU and Chassis at a total cost of around £150.00.

Steiger Dynamics may be a new company, but the impressive high-end LEET home theater PC chassis shows they definitely know what they are doing.

Our SSD Review today is going to examine the Comay Venus Pro 3 SATA 3 240GB SSD. Comay is a brand of SSDs manufactured by CoreRise Electronics Ltd, one of four SSD companies located in China with the others being Renice, Runcore and Memoright. The Comay line is a typical ‘SandForce Driven’ family with limited availability as the company is relatively new, however, Comay can be found in Canada, at Synetic Inc. Their website shows additional distributors in Russia and Australia.
