We are less than half way through January, and we are already off to a great start with two new reviews for the year. To ramp things up in the next twelve months, we will try something new that we have not done before. In the past half decade or so, we have reviewed many different types of technology products. One of these products include the case fans. Interestingly, if you noticed it or not, all of these products previously reviewed were from the same company. Now Noctua is an excellent manufacturer of low noise cooling solutions. This fact is attested to with awards given to virtually every Noctua product we have ever evaluated. However, this time around, we will have something from a highly reputable manufacturer of everything from chassis to power supplies instead, and it is not Noctua. That company in question is no other than SilverStone, and they will be the second company to just send us case fans for evaluation (We have reviewed their cases and power supplies in the past). To be honest, at first I was a bit skeptical, because I did not really think SilverStone was really serious about making anything other than the run-of-the-mill case fan. But regardless of what I thought, I could not resist my interest in what this performance parts manufacturer had for us in store. So today, we have the SilverStone Air Penetrator SST-AP121-L for review, which is a 120mm fan with fancy LEDs. Let's see how this fan stacks up against the best in the industry.

The new Cosmos II is a huge and heavy (48.5 lbs or 22 kg) full-tower case, dubbed "ultra tower" by the manufacturer. It comes with all the features you can imagine, such as support for big motherboards (E-ATX, XL-ATX, SSI CEB, and SSI EEB), a big radiator for liquid cooling solutions, and 10 expansion slots. Its price tag is also heavy: USD 350. Let's explore this new release.

Today I will be taking a look at the F7C Evo M-ITX chassis from Streacom, another entry to the competitive world of HTPC chassis and a part of the market that has seen something of a revival in the last couple of years with the rise in high performance M-ITX motherboards.
I'll admit, until I saw this chassis I had never even heard of Streacom, but they're a relatively new company that formed in 2010 so it's understandable that they're still finding a name for them selves in some markets.
"To design, engineer, manufacture and supply a range of computer products and accessories that push the boundaries of form, function, quality and value." - Streacom
They've already established a solid product range that features active and passively cooled chassis, valve amplifiers and home entertainment solutions to name but a few, and Streacom seem to have a good team behind them from around the world and various parts of the industry that should favour them well in terms of an end product.
Priced at around £75 for the chassis, it's not exactly cheap but it's not terribly expensive either and there is a high demand in the HTPC product for products that have a premium edge about them, given that the "under the TV" spot is extreme important in many people's home cinema setup, it's often worth the extra investment to get something that looks good. New entrants to this Streacom range will however need to make a further investment into the Nano 150 PSU that basically acts like an external PSU, which at £77 is a little expensive, but not overly so for a decent quality PSU. So for the purpose of this review I'm going to consider this a combined setup of PSU and Chassis at a total cost of around £150.00.

The Gigabyte Cupio 6140 is one fine case, and Quiet PC USA has done well to increase the appeal with the quiet modifications. The fit and finish are top-notch, all of the features worked perfectly, and the tool-less chassis really surprised me with the external bays. It is definitely quiet, and doesn’t have loads of LEDs glaring at you, so it probably won't draw too much attention to itself.

Lian Li is famous for their (sometimes expensive) aluminum cases. Today we are taking a look on one of their latest mainstream mid-tower models, the PC-8FI, which comes at a very attractive price.
