The Thermaltake Level 10 GTS Snow edition was the very first case I ever reviewed here on eTeknix, and it was absolutely fantastic, since then I've seen a number of great Thermaltake products arrive in the office and walk away with eTeknix awards, such as the Armor Revo. It's because of this reputation that I have somewhat high expectations of the product I'm looking at today, and I'm going to be looking for that same high level of build quality and value for money that I've seen across the rest of both the Thermaltake and of course the gaming orientated TTeSports product ranges.

Today I'm taking a look at the rather exciting looking Chaser A41 chassis from Thermaltake, the latest entry in their new line of stylish, high performance chassis. Thermaltake have always made some of my favourite chassis on the market, with products such as the Level 10 GTS, Armour Revo and most recently the other entry to the Chaser series, the Thermaltake Chaser A31, so I'm going in with high expectation for this chassis.

Yesterday i uploaded a review surrounding the latest PC Case manufactured by NEXUS, one of the latest players in the market, called the Prominent R which may not have the most radical design in the market but it does carry a large number of features making it a very good overall solution in the midi tower segment of the market. However since the design of the case may not appeal to everyone out there today i decided to take things a bit further (more like at the opposite side) and bring you a review about one of the latest midi tower offerings by Thermaltake called the Overseer RX-I (VN700M1W2N) which also happens to have a large number of features but this time over the design part of the unit has nothing simple about it (you can tell for yourself just by looking at the intro image).

One of the major things that separates the Overseer RX-1, is the amount of internal room of this chassis. Granted, I am using an older but still fairly large AMD/ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 video card with an Arctic Cooling Accelero GPU cooler on it, but trying to find a chassis that can easily handle this large video card configuration is darn near impossible. The Thermaltake Overseer RX-1 chassis not only handles this large card with ease, it makes this large video card look tiny once installed into this chassis...

Thermaltake has been making cases for several years but they also have many different product lines such as power supplies, CPU coolers, fans, keyboards and mice. Today we have the opportunity to review one of their new full tower cases. The case we are going to examine is the Thermaltake Overseer RX-I VN700M series chassis.

The Chaser MK-1 is one of Thermaltake's latest full towers, and includes some great features, such as: an internal USB 3.0 connection, a hard drive dock, color-shift fans, and an integrated fan controller. While any case can be made to include these features, having them built into the case is a great advantage when they are integrated well and the case looks great.

Installing a system into the Thermaltake Armor Revo Gene was simple and quick. The tool-free bays and drive trays made component installation a snap and the cable-management grommets made routing everything easy. The grommets were plenty large enough and were held solid in the motherboard tray. Not one grommet came out on me through all of the cable pulling they were subjected to. I wish I could say the same for all case manufacturers...

With the lack of cases on the market that are not black or black with accents, it is refreshing to see that Thermaltake has stepped outside the norm and put out a Snow Edition Armor Revo chassis. The Revo sports a fan controller that supports up to 5 fans, two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 connections. Thermaltake has also added an HDD docking station on the top of the Revo, which supports one 3.5″ or 2.5″ drive. To add to the aesthetics of the Revo, Thermaltake has also added wing shaped aluminum bezels on the front to help it stand out and give you the feel of actual armor. The Revo also boasts a massive air cooling system, along with the option to place a full water cooling setup inside. Now, if we have blown enough smoke your way, let’s get to reviewing this case and see if it stands up to all the claims. Read on …

I can remember the lead-sleds that rolled with a curb weight similar to moving vans, and it reminds me of modern-day desktop computer cases. Originally, giant-sized computer cases painted in beige were once the de facto standard for system builders wanting to construct their own IBM clone personal computer from separate components. I believed this horrible trend would phase itself out around the turn of the century, but when Y2K came and went and there was still significant demand for large full-tower cases I knew something was wrong. The more things change in this industry, the more they seem to remain the same. Now more than ten years later, we're still building our PCs with the same heft as an Oldsmobile Toronado.
