Today for review I've got another case from Thermaltake called the V3 Black Edition. This case is a low priced case, coming in at around $50, so don't expect the features or amenities that you'd find in a high priced case, it is though a decent case overall. It's lightweight and seems well made, there is room for larger video cards, but I did run into a couple problems with it, so read on...

Today's case falls into the entry level gamer category and is the Thermaltake V3 BlacX Edition. Tt have tried to pack as many features as they can into this case including USB 3.0 and SSD support while keeping costs at a minimum so let's see how they have done.

We have gone through quite number of Thermaltake chassis reviews and today we are going to reveal another latest yet affordable model for you; Thermaltake V5. One of the unique selling points of Thermaltake V5 is the mobility where it comes with a handle on top of the chassis for user to carry it around easily like attending Lan Party, gaming competition which are pretty hot activities among gamers nowadays.

Whether we like taking part in it or not, gaming is a huge part of the PC industry. So huge, in fact, that millions are spent each year for research and development into the latest games. And even more R&D is spent each year on improving hardware in a way that gaming experience is improved. Gaming hardware requirements are advancing at a pace like never before, with games like Crysis constantly pushing the latest hardware to its limits. The chassis market must also keep up with the ever changing demands of even the most casual gamer, as well as satisfying the needs of the hardcore enthusiast.

For some enthusiasts, great cooling can make up for some shortcomings elsewhere, provided those shortcomings can be dealt with. What I said in my earlier review can still be said about the V9 Black Edition, “The V9 along with the newer V9 Black Edition is fundamentally a cheap, flimsy case with cheesy, stamped features and an interior that doesn't work all that well".
Cases
When I first got an opportunity to look at an example of Thermaltake's V9 series, I was less than impressed. This new BlacX entry has some nicely executed features and displays very good cooling numbers. However, the interior design is definitely getting long in the tooth and, frankly wasn't that good to start with. The chassis itself is thin and flimsy, cable management is virtually non-existent and the expansion card tool-free clips are, in word, horrible.

Lately the market has finally opened up, and in mid tower designs these days we can find cases that aren't going to break the bank and come very well equipped. It used to be that $100 might get you an Antec 900 case, and with that you got some cool hard drive cages and a bunch of airflow. The internal layout was very simplistic, wasn't painted, and your ears took a hammering from the noise level that come from inside the case. I really like the fact that manufacturers are realizing that buyers don't have a ton of expendable cash, and are actually trying to offer us some lower dollar products that still offer variations on things found in the much more expensive cases on the market.

With a set of exciting and innovative features such as an dual top HDD docking station, USB 3.0 connectivity, complete tool-less design, spacious interior able to fit even the longest graphics cards and a top 230mm exhaust fan the latest V9 BlacX Midi Tower PC Case by Thermaltake really has the potential to be your dream case.
