I must admit that I love a high-end chassis’ that are packed full of features with a high-end rig installed, as I’m sure many of you do too. However, not everyone has a need for an extreme gaming system, nor the budget for one. For many people, a nice simple chassis that is easy to work with and wallet friendly is what they need and that’s exactly what we have here today.

The SilverStone RV01 Raven is a very different kind of case, not just for SilverStone but for any other case out there. One of the biggest changes is moving from an all aluminum construction to a Steel and Plastic combination. The black plastic molding creates a very unique look that resembles the rigid and hard lines found on the Stealth Bomber.

If you have ever gone looking for a used car, typically, you don't go around looking for the cheapest car possible. However, if you are strapped for cash and need something quick and dirty, any car is usually better than no car. Of course, when I mention all these things, I mean absolutely no disrespect to the BitFenix Merc Alpha we have here at APH Networks for our review today. Sure, it isn't your high-end enthusiast chassis, nor is it your mainstream case. In fact, it is what many would classify as a hardcore value case. When I first read the name "Merc Alpha", I really just want to call it the cheapest Mercedes-Benz in existence (You know, with the name "Merc" and everything). It is hard not to think of it that way, as the Merc Alpha is going for only $39 at press time. Of course, an assumption would be that you are being offered nothing more than the absolute minimal number of features. On the other hand, assumptions could be wrong, and many would try to debate that fact -- this case could be completely different than what you have been expecting. BitFenix does create a wide array of different types of chassis, so I hope they do know what features are the most important even on a lower priced model. The real question here is whether this chassis is truly a Mercedes-Benz under the covers, or is really just a Hyundai cheap car in disguise? Read on to find out more about this super saver deal!

I arrived at home like normal the other day. After a long day of doing more than humanly possible, I put my bags down, sat down in my (Now relatively flat-cushioned) mesh back computer chair, and turned on my computer. After going through my usual routine of replying to emails and other messages I have missed during my short 30-minutes-made-20 commute -- where time is inversely proportional to speed, let's just leave it at that -- I got out of my chair and began to change in my walk-in closet. I glanced at the nice little wire rack I leave my technology equipment on. You know, charging station for my laptop and cell phone, you get the idea. One of the shelves on the wire rack is probably a geek dream to many. Inside it is a box that contains the G.SKILL Ripjaws-X F3-17000CL9D-8GBXLD DDR3 RAM I have reviewed last week, as well as two unopened boxes containing one ASUS P8P67 Pro and one ASUS P8H67-I motherboard, respectively. Next to it is my Canon EOS 60D dSLR body with the usual expensive flash and lens attached. At that moment, I realized I haven't even touched any of this stuff for an entire week. If you are in the field of engineering, you will know what I am talking about. You have all the nice stuff, you know everything about it, but you just don't have the time to play with your toys. That said, it probably won't come as a surprise to you my home network is really like no other. In addition to running a QNAP TS-559 Pro+ network attached storage system with multiple hard drives running in RAID, I also have a custom built server on the side running Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard. Why? Well, just because I can, haha. Lately, I decided I could use a little more processing power. Conveniently, I got a lot of last generation Intel processors lying around. Scooping up all the components together, all I am missing is a nice chassis to put all the parts in. I wanted something big, roomy, high quality, has decent cooling capabilities, low maintenance with regards to dust, and good looking; despite the fact no one is going to be looking at it. Then I came across the Fractal Design Define XL. Pretty much the XL version -- pun intended -- of the company's renowned R3 chassis, how well does this Extended ATX case stack up in real life? Read on to find out!

We have another funky little chassis in the eTeknix office today, and while it was only a couple of weeks ago that we took a look at the truly epic H-Frame from InWin, we now have something a little smaller, lighter and less expensive, the H-Frame Mini. The mITX sibling of the Aluminium monster that is the H-Frame looks set to offer a similar design ethic, but with a much reduced footprint, making it ideal for those short of space or in need of something more portable.
mITX has undergone a rebirth this last year, with mITX chassis proving more and more popular we have seen hardware manufacturers put out some of the greatest small components, especially when it comes to motherboards and APUs that are capable of giving smaller form factors some impressive graphics performance. Yet much of the attention goes towards the larger mITX chassis such as the BitFenix prodigy, but there is a market out there that wants all the premium build quality and design they can get in a much smaller form factor.
InWin look set to deliver to those who want such a design, giving the H-Frame Mini an aluminium and tempered glass finish, something that goes a long way to explaining the price tag of £161.99. That is expensive for something this small but it does features an integrated 180w PSU, and if the build quality is anything like that of the £260 H-Frame (full size) then it may not be such a bad deal after all. So lets get right to it and see just what this chassis has to offer.
