In late August of 2009 I was blessed with looking at the only chassis to make a permanent home for my gaming and work PC. Before that, I was just constantly changing cases in search for the one case out there that would fit my needs and look very good doing it. What I ended up with is the most loved case I have seen since I started writing reviews, and that case is the Obsidian 800D from Corsair.

The Silverstone LC19 is an impressive case for anyone looking to build a simple desktop machine or a slim HTPC machine to hide in the shelves. There is nothing flashy or annoying with the case and the only lights are blue power LEDs, ones that could be easily unplugged for stealth performance.

Das N600 soll hierbei die Speerspitze der N-Serie bilden.

The Antec Nine Hundred Two is a new, revamped version of the Nine Hundred. The original Nine Hundred was a great case but it wasn’t perfect. Antec have since looked at how they can make the case even better and have then implemented these improvements into the Nine Hundred Two. This means that the Nine Hundred Two has removable dust filters, external fan controllers (rather than internal) and the inside of the case has been painted black – in a similar fashion to the Antec Twelve Hundred. These improvements are just a few of the added extras. So has Antec managed to create the perfect gaming case this time round?
Earlier this year Enermax announced new models in their case range and one of those was the Hoplite, a mid-tower model which is aimed at enthusiasts and gamers who are looking for a high level of build quality and features on a reasonable budget. Today we’ve got a full tower chassis from Enermax called the Spinerex. They’re a fairly well respected company, so I expect great things from this case. As a full tower, I’ll be looking to ensure that it can contain a hearty helping of computing goodness, as well as the normal things like build quality, materials used and cleverness of design.
Cooler Master, one of the leading case manufacturers, has recently launched their latest addition to the HAF series, the HAF XM. The HAF range targets gamers, wanting functionality, maximum hardware compatibility and excellent cooling under any circumstances. Modern high end gaming setups usually comprise multi GPU setups, big CPU coolers and likewise power supplies. Case designs have to be constantly adapted to suit the needs of its end users. Easiest solution is to opt straight for a big tower case. Having more than adequate space, ready to being stuffed with the biggest and baddest hardware available. However the size of these cases can be way out of proportion to fit under your desk. A pain in the butt to transport as they mostly weigh a ton or they are just too expensive. With the mid tower HAF series Cooler Master has addressed most of the aforementioned statements. Time to explore what the new HAF XM has to offer.
