Corsair started out with a solid reputation for high performance RAM. Since then, they've branched out into other areas, maintaining a consistent reputation for quality that few can match. Today, we'll be looking at one of their latest offerings in the Obsidian line of computer cases, the Obsidian 550D. A mid-tower case focused on quiet performance, the 550D has several interesting features that we'll be exploring in-depth.

For this review I will be looking at a new product from a well-known pc hardware manufacturer, Chieftec, and the product I will be looking at in this review is a PC chassis from their Hi-Fi series and the specific version I will be looking at is the HT-01SL.

Today for review I've got another case from Thermaltake called the V3 Black Edition. This case is a low priced case, coming in at around $50, so don't expect the features or amenities that you'd find in a high priced case, it is though a decent case overall. It's lightweight and seems well made, there is room for larger video cards, but I did run into a couple problems with it, so read on...

Cooler Master's 690 III with Seidon 120V cooler (CMS-693-KWN1) is the third generation of the 690 series of cases. Much of its design comes straight from the 690 II and has been revised to fulfill more modern demands. Improvements include modular hard drive cages, large video cards up to 423mm, three dedicated SSD mounting points, and support for two 240mm radiators. If you get the version without the side window (CMS-693-KKN1), you'll also have support for a third massive 200mm fan on the side panel! The front I/O panel has gained a larger cubbyhole and ditched the mark II's eSata port in favor of the faster and infinitely more useful USB 3.0.

I believe that majority of computer enthusiasts want a case that has had plenty of thought put into it. Small features that make system builder's life easier, and manageable interior space that makes for a clean build. Thermaltake continually makes improvements on their cases and they put more thought in each new release. One of their latest is the Armor A90.

I’m always a bit skeptical of gaming cases, or the enthusiast cases. There’s no way I could convince myself to walk into my nearest Fry’s and pick one off the shelf that looked good. It simply goes against the common sense that many of us have developed to do our research before we buy. That said, when a Xion Predator AXP 970 landed in my lap for review, it felt a bit like the Russian roulette of performance cases. Knowing nothing about the case, I set out to personally acquaint myself with it.

The original Shinobi caused quite a stir when it hit the shelves, offering affordability, quality and clutter free looks. Available online for around £120 puts the Shinobi XL in direct competition with NZXTs Switch 810 and the mighty Fractal Design Define XL so competition in the price bracket is certainly tough, can the Shinobi XL compete?
