Today for review I've got the new Thermaltake Armor A90 gaming chassis. It's a great case overall, and the price isn't too bad either coming in at under $100. It's got plenty of room for larger video cards and a lot of hard drives. The A90 comes with three fans pre-installed, one of the them is a nice large 200mm fan that's located on the top of the case. If you are familiar with Thermaltake cases, you will see that this case is a hybrid between two of their product lines, it is in the VL9000 series so it has the superior cooling qualities of the V9 but is also part of the Armor series so it has some really aggressive styling to make your rig stand out at LAN parties. Thermaltake’s original Armor case was one of the first cases that when I saw it I was really impressed. I think it was the large aluminum front doors and the case window that was so big you could see pretty much see everything inside your case. Since the original release Thermaltake has come up with new models expanding and improving on the original case. Today we are taking a look at the latest case in the Armor series the Armor Revo Gene. This mid tower features three 200mm fans, a hot-swap hard drive docking station, USB 3.0 support and many other features. Can this case live up to the original Armor? Read on to find out.
The Thermaltake Armor Revo Gene is a mid-tower case in targeted at mainstream users. Thermaltake designed the Armor Revo Gene with aggressive styling, including aluminum wings on the front bezel, large feet to raise it off the ground, and LED logo in the top front with a breathing effect. The Revo Gene supports up to four 5.25” external devices, one external 3.5” drive, and five internal 3.5” or 2.5” devices. The top of the case also has a 3.5” or 2.5” hard drive dock for quickly accessing a bare hard drive. The cooling system is robust and includes a front 200mm fan, rear 120mm fan, and top 200mm. There are also optional fan mounting locations on the side for a 200mm fan and bottom for a 120mm fan. The headset holder on the side of the case is one more feature making the Revo Gene ready for battle.
The Thermaltake Armor Revo Gene Snow Edition Case looks good, great build quality, plenty of drive bays, external drive dock, headset/headphones holder, cable management, window and fan option for left side panel and more. Also, there are two color options, white and black.
