I am always amazed at how the political and economic system works in the United States. While I am not suggesting Canada is leaps and bounds better, it is interesting how the United States government would even consider the SOPA and PIPA bills. On the technology side, blackouts were the main method of protesting, and in the end, it proved to be highly influential. Not only did it draw tons of support, but most importantly, it made many people aware of the issues and reduce the likelihood of similar future incidents from happening. With that in mind, probably completely unintentional, the NZXT Source 220 is like the blacked out version of the NZXT Source 210 Elite. Having a completely black theme without the option for a white variation, I guess the value budget consumer will have to lose out on customization. By having no other options, you might get the feeling of being forced to accept the chassis as it is; however, I am pretty certain that there will be significantly less controversy over the Source 220 than the previously mentioned bills. Today, I am not here to talk about either the SOPA or PIPA bills. Instead, we have ourselves a revision of the NZXT Source 210 Elite to discuss. Now of course, just like I would hope with any revisions to SOPA or PIPA, there should be some significant improvements over the previous version. One last note, I do not support SOPA or PIPA, and I am very thankful for the turn of events related to those bills.

For those of you who lived under a rock last year and completely missed out on the BMW Group Designworks USA inspired Level 10, Let me bring you up to speed real quick. To understand this design, you have to first envision a thick, vertically mounted motherboard tray attached to a wide flat base. Unlike a typical chassis', there wasn't the "boxed" look with this chassis at all. In this design everything was mounted to the motherboard tray for support. In the front you had and optical bay rack that was in a separate compartment than the hard drive, and which each received their own slim covers. The top half of the motherboard used a small cover to go over the CPU cooler and PWM area of the motherboard, while yet another hinged compartment covered the expansion cards. This design is very unique, and was very impressive upon release. The biggest problem with the Level 10 I saw was the devastating price tag!

Almost all PC cases have the same overall design. They are in the shape of a tower and our components always go in the same places. Sometimes we see some radical designs on the inside or outside of cases, but not too often. Recently wall-mounted PC’s and PC’s made to look like art have become very popular. We actually covered a few of these custom-built creations in our Case Mod Friday section. Not everyone has the time or the skill to build their own custom case. Well Thermaltake comes to the rescue with their brand new Core P5 Chassis. This chassis is designed for builders and gives you a whole lot of options when it comes to putting together an awesome system. On top of that once you are done the chassis allows you to display your creation or even wall-mount it! Let’s jump in and see what the Core P5 is all about!

Lancool is a brand that belongs to Lian Li, and is used for cases from this company that are not made entirely of aluminum. Typically, Lancool cases have an aluminum front panel and steel body. Having two separate brands is a two-edged sword. While it helps users to easily identify the material the case is made of, oftentimes resellers list products under the wrong brand. (Case in point: This particular case is listed at Newegg.com as "Lian Li," not "Lancool." In addition, the manufacturer is not clear on its marketing message to the end-user about the difference between the two brands.
